
All ages and abilities are welcomed. The gentle course is laid out along a well-marked and beautifully wooded path. The course is a full 5K and is professionally timed. Reid's Run/Walk 5K is also a fun family event and the course is stroller-friendly.

Same-day registration is also available the morning of the event.
Check-in and Same-day Registration tables open at 7:30 am. The Run/Walk will start promptly at 9 am.
About the Event
Being held this year on Sunday morning, May 21, 2023 this 9th Annual Reid's Run/Walk 5K is a fund-raising event the proceeds of which support the Reid R Sacco Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program at Connecticut Children's Hospital. The event is held each year at Winding Trails park in Farmington, CT.
Event Schedule
7:30am: Check-in and Same-Day Registration Tables Open in Garmany Hall. Water, coffee and refreshments available.
8:50am: All walkers and runners should gather at the starting line.
9:00am: Hard Start
11:00am: Awards Ceremony.
About Winding Trails, Farmington CT
The 5K route at Winding Trails is well marked with Reid's Run/Walk 5K mile-markers and arrows. The venue is perfect for this event, with unpaved trails meandering through a fragrant forest landscape and around a lake. The terrain is suitable for all ages and is stroller-friendly. Winding Trails is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to preservation and stewardship of over 380 acres of natural woodlands and waterways. As you enter the property you are immediately welcomed by the beautiful pristine 80 acre Dunning Lake. This is a popular destination for summer swimming, fishing, boating, and picnicking. As you make your way further into the property you will come to the camp area with sports fields, pavilions, and buildings. From here you must exit your car and get on foot or bike and truly begin to explore the rustic beauty of the area with its 12.5 miles of trails, Walton Pond, wildlife, and Nature’s Porch.
